Moving to St George (southern) Utah has brought about a dramatic change in Sue's artistic inspiration. After years of working with the lush greens and autumn golds of Wisconsin, she is now surrounded by the majestic mountains and colors of Utah's Color Country. After just a few years in this new environment, she was invited to be the feature artist, along with other fiber artists of The Painted Hills Fiber Arts Group, in a four-month exhibit at the St George Art Museum. The show is unique in several ways. One is that Sue will exhibit on one floor, while the group (including Sue) will exhibit on another, along with wonderful photography by Robert Lefkow. Using several of Robert's photos as inspiration, the group has created stunning representations of many well-known area sites, such as Zion Canyon's Great White Throne. The following three designs are representative of Sue's new focus. Along with other creations, these will be on display at the St George Art Museum from January 19 through May 11 (see the SGAM website for details).
